In 2005, after a short stint in the national spoken word and slam poetry scene, Homeless (Ryan K.) shifted his focus to hip hop, and has been making music for the past six years.
Coming from a midwestern background and releasing singles and mixtapes with a variety of producers, this fall sees his release of Right As Rain, a free live LP recorded at the famous 7th Street Entry in spring of 2011.
Ater playing almost 100 hip hop and spoken word shows, with the likes of Guante, Prof, Toki Wright (Rhymesayers), Mike Mictlan and Cecil Otter (Doomtree) and more, Homeless is working hard. Very hard.
Minneapolis hip hop through and through, and informed by the grind that only 30 degrees below zero temperatures can put in your bones, Homeless is introspective, engaging, and doing his best to have a hell of a good time in the process.
Recently transplanted to LA, he is trying to make a name for himself and save the world in the process.
"A sucker for all things coming out of Minneapolis (and an appreciation for well written/humble emails), I pushed play on this new video from upstart Homeless without hesitation. And just as I expected, the music is worth the time."
- Shake, 2DopeBoyz
"Another talented Minneapolis rapper, Homeless, has a new video out... If you aren't familiar with this guy, check him out now--with solid pacing and smart beats, he won't be a secret for long."
- Natalie Gallagher, Gimme Noise, City Pages
